荷蘭的電子公司飛利浦(Philips)，2010年6月18日指控美國ZOLL Medical Corporation涉嫌侵權，總計遭侵權的專利高達15項，全案目前於麻州聯邦地方法院進行審理中。

本次的系爭專利有編號US5,607,454、US5,721,482等15項專利，全部專利皆為體外心臟去顫電擊器相關，包括電擊器的電療技術、電池裝置和使用測試等等，而系爭產品則為ZOLL Medical生產的自動式簡易心臟電擊器。

體外心臟去顫電擊器，簡稱心臟電擊器，為急救系統中相當重要的醫療器材。心臟電擊器可分為兩大類型，一種為應用在醫院和救護車的專業型電擊器，另一種則是應用於居家或公共場所的自動式簡易心臟電擊器，也就是本次的系爭產品。

ZOLL Medical成立於1952年，主要從事醫療急救器材的研發，旗下生產多種自動式簡易心臟電擊器。而飛利浦則是成立於1891年，目前為全球最大的電子公司之一，業務含括消費電器、照明設備、醫療器材以及個人護理產品等等。

過去飛利浦也曾經以專利訴訟控告其他LED照明業者，在心臟電擊器產業，飛利浦還是持續以專利訴訟挑戰ZOLL Medical，同樣的策略是否還能幫助飛利浦維持市場優勢，則有待觀察後續發展了。(475字；表1)
